Quick Update

Meadow is here. She arrived Saturday (7/8) at 5:31 PM. She was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 19 1/2" long. I will post the birthing story later.

Breastfeeding mothers: My milk has come in, but she continues to sleep through feedings. I end up nursing for 10 minutes at time almost everyhour. Anyone else had this experience?

The first couple of weeks with Lance, I felt like all I did was feed him. I would try to feed him, but he would fall asleep, and as a result we use to undress him down to his diaper to try and keep him awake. We also had latch on problems and I got mastistis, it was a mess, but it gets much easier. Right now it is so difficult because you are trying to recover from labor and take care of the baby. Congrats on the new little one and I hope labor wasn't too bad!

Congrats April and welcome to the world baby girl!! Can't wait to read the birth story and I hope you're resting as much as you can and enjoying your precious baby.

My experience was the same as Sarah's - we'd use cold wash cloths on his face and arms to wake him up. I was told to not wake them for a feeding unless it's been longer than 4 hours. Conner never slept that long, but in the beginning, him going more than 2 hours would cause me to engorged so I would just pump to relieve the pressure.
